Big Sheep Wool Gallery
Situated in the South Waikato 45 minutes south of Hamilton, Tirau is a vibrant town which reinvented itself in the late 1980’s.
Starting with the Big Sheep, built by John Drake, the town then built the Dog next door as the local information centre. Tirau has since enjoyed displays of corrugated art all over the town as a pictorial of what is available to the many people who drive through the town on a daily basis. With plenty of parking, Tirau is a great place to break the journey, to stretch your legs, browse and have a cuppa.
